LanceBendiksen

Brooklyn-born producer Lance Bendiksens career began on the stage. Raised in New Jersey where his father was an off-Broadway singer and his mother a rehearsal pianist, he quickly took to the troubador lifestyle. In the tradition of Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, he packed up his guitar and hit the road. Over the years, he became a versatile sideman and singer/songwriter, performing in over 3,000 shows, including four U.S. and two Canadian tours. His last national theater tour and record Journey Home (Altair Records) garnered high critical aclaim, netting feature articles in Billboard and the L.A. Times and culminated in headline performances at top venues including New York's Carnegie Hall.

In 1993, after producing several records for  regional touring acts, Colorados Avalanche Recording hired Bendiksen as its Studio Manager and Staff Producer. Avalanche's impressive client roster featured a long list of hit acts such as INXS, Michael McDonald, the Pretenders, Leon Russell, the Winnans, Kenny Loggins and many others. Bendiksen went on to produce tracks in association with Boulders KBCO Radio, for artists including Sarah McLachlan (Arista), and the Cowboy Junkies (RCA), while also overseeing recordings for MTV and over two hundred local, regional and national projects.

In 1996, in pursuit of his love for scoring films, Bendiksen created the production company that now bears his name as an independent resource for television, radio and film. In 1997, Bendiksen was awarded an Emmy for the PBS production, Lifewise.  In 2000, Bendiksen snagged a Silver Telly for the PBS production, There Was a Time.  In 2001, Bendiksen re-tooled the company and expanded its operations to include original music production and artist development. Bendiksen and his staff have a combined 40 years of industry experience in music production, management and publicity.  In addition, they utilize a large talent pool of A-list session players, engineers and music business professionals. Bendiksen relishes his role as an independent producer who discovers and develops new talent. He is a seasoned pro with an exceptional ear and the ability to elevate projects to their highest possible standards.

One of Bendiksen's on-going goals has been to keep the company's home in Colorado, a decision based on the state's overwhelming natural beauty. Along with being an inspiring place to make music, Colorado as a music base has been bolstered by its thriving indie scene. Bendiksen has combined key professional alliances in Los Angeles, Nashville and New York with global internet access, making the company's industry profile both well-balanced and formidable.

Most recently, Bendikse produced and scored The Greatest Good, a PBS documentary for the US National Forest Service. The score was recorded at the world famous Skywalker Ranch using the San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra. The score has so far earned him 3 additional Telly's and 2 more Aurora's. In 2005, he was the executive producer for The Fray's live recording, which was used on their DVD and recorded at Red Rocks in Morrison Colorado for Epic Records.

Bendiksen holds Concert Artist endorsements with Baldwin Piano, and Hohner Instruments, a Liberal Arts degree from the Ricker Institute and a diploma from the Hollywood Film Institute. Current memberships include the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Bendiksen is the CEO of Bendiksen Productions, owner of Munjoy Music Publishing and a partner in PRTC Entertainment Publicity.
