Combining all the elements that make pop icons such as Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Gwen Stefani, the world cannot deny singer/songwriter Leah. Her magnetic energy, heightened with raw, powerful vocals is a sound to be reckoned with.
Growing up in a traditional culture, the idea of superstardom only came as a form of a dream. But soon, Leah's innate abilities began to shine through. Leah started performing for family functions and shortly thereafter, participated in musical productions, choirs, dance troupes, cultural/piano recitals, and school bands. One of her greater accomplishments was landing the opportunity to perform John Rutter's "Magnificat" at Carnegie Hall. Having worked with one of music's phenomena's, she knew she was bound to experience greater things. Leah's talents would again be witnessed to the world, as she was given her big break toward becoming a star, as Pink on MTV's "Becoming". One might say she came full circle when Leah received the opportunity to license her songs to MTV, for such shows as "Cribs", "True Life", and "My Super Sweet 16". To add to her list of accolades, she received the rising star "best female vocalist" award at the 2005 Las Vegas Music Awards (LVMA) and was nominated for the best female category by the 2006 Southern California Music Awards (SCMA).
It was only a matter of time that Lance Bendiksen, CEO of Bendiksen Productions (BP), would discover Leah. The summer of 2006, Leah and BP began working on her EP. During her musical journey, Leah made sure she was involved with each creative process. "This is my first real album", Leah declares. "I definitely put my heart and soul in every developmental stage, whether it was songwriting, production, or marketing".
Writing songs since the tender age of 14, Leah's songwriting process stems from her personal life as well as others. "It's like writing a short story or focusing on those small moments" explains Leah. "My music definitely addresses real life issues and I hope to inspire those who take the time to listen".
Leah's definitely a long way from home as she steps into the exciting world of popular music. Since then, she has been featured on AZNraps.com, 13 Minutes Magazine, and Music Connection Magazine. Most recently she was selected as the Grammy Sponsor Favorite Artist by My Music TV.
Leah can be seen performing locally around Southern California in such venues as The Viper Room, Whisky A Go Go, and The Cat Club. Get ready for the next female pop star.
